Founded in 2003, The John Knox Village Foundation is a 501 (c) (3) Florida-based not-for-profit corporation which operates exclusively for the benefit of, to perform the functions of and to carry out the purposes of John Knox Village. The Foundation has its own Board of Directors that works in partnership with The Village Board of Directors and the many representatives of The Village.
Over the years, a number of generous supporters set up funds for various Village interests they held dear. Today, the Foundation manages 24 funds which enhance the quality of life of residents and employees. Two are endowment funds: a Benevolent Endowment, which offers assistance to residents who have outlived their resources, and the Chapel Endowment, which assists with maintenance of the
Village Centre, where Sunday services are held. Most recently, the New Health Center building fund has been the focus.
The Board assists the staff in major decisions which affect the long range plans and everyday operations of The Village.
