November 2008

• 11/1 Koffee Klatch presents The Storytelling Sims performing "Love, Laughter and Other Ties that Bind." Welcome back Wayne and Jane Sims, humorists, historians and tandem tellers in this nostalgic look at life and its adventures. In the Auditorium with donuts at 9:00am followed by the show at 9:30am.
• 11/3 Special Presentation "Parkinson's Lifestyle Changes." A great opportunity to learn about Parkinson's Disease, what causes it, how to treat it, and how to live with it. In the Auditorium at 3:00pm.
• 11/6 & 7 30th Annual Health Center Holiday Bazaar "Flirty Thirty." In the Village Centre. Bake sale starting at 9:00am Thursday in the lobby. The doors open to arts, crafts, treasures, jewelry and bargains at 11:00am. Invite friends from outside the Village on Friday from 9am to 2pm. Raffle and Auctions at 1:30pm on Friday. Don't miss this incredible fund-raising event.
• 11/11 Veteran's Day Service. Take time to remember our veterans and their sacrifices at 3:00pm in the Auditorium. Veterans please register at the front desks in all Village apartments.
• 11/12 Theatre Outing to Caldwell Theatre for "She Loves Me." Join our group to this Boca Raton theatre for what is considered the most charming musical ever written. Leave the Village at 12:45am.
•11/13 & 14 FLICRA Annual State Meeting. Meet other CCRC residents from around the state. Join two workshops "The state of the CCRC industry," and "How to make your resident council the best it can be." In our own Auditorium at 2:00pm Thursday, and 9:00am Friday.
•11/14 Cultural Outing to Master Chorale of South Florida. Enjoy "Mendelssohn's Elijah" at First Presbyterian Pompano. Leave the Village at 7:00pm.
• 11/16 Outing to Spire Series for "A Jazz Rendezvous." The Gold Coast Jazz Society wll perform to preserve America's great jazz musical heritage. Leave the Village at 3:00pm to First Presbyterian Pompano.
• 11/17 Birthday Party presents Marlyn Sanchez. Welcome back this talented vocalist with a pure melodic voice and Audrey Hepburn elegance. Celebrate the birthdays of the month. Refreshments after the show in the Auditorium at 7:30pm.
• 11/18 New Parkinson's Support Group. This new bi-monthly support group begins with a meeting at 2:00pm. If you, or a loved one suffers from this disease, please join and learn.
• 11/19 Theatre Outing to Stage Door Theatre for "Lucky Stuff." Come with us for this zany murder musical about an unassuming English shoe salesman who can inherit six million dollars if he can succeed at a very unusual task. Leave the Village at 1:00pm.
• 11/20 Casual Afternoon Dance. Have fun at this "no-frills" event. Dance to CD music on a dance floor ready for you to enjoy. In the Auditorium at 2:00pm.
• 11/20 Big Game Night. Play your favorite game: Hearts, Rummikub, Uno, Sequence, Cribbage, Scrabble, Yahtzee, or call with your favorite. In the Auditorium at 7:00pm.
• 11/21 Day Trip to Lion Country Safari. Adventure with us on a 4-mile safari through a 320-acre wildlife preserve, where magnificent animals from around the world roam freely. Leave the Village at 9:30am.
• 11/21 Visual Independence Program. A great opportunity for all vision-challenged residents to learn ways to adapt and stay independent. In the Auditorium at 2:00pm.
• 11/22 Spectacular Saturday presents Ars Flores Ensemble. Welcome back these outstanding young people performing alongside professional musicians. In the Auditorium at 7:30pm.
• 11/24 JKV Garden Club. If you love plants come check out this resident organization. The program this month features Bromeliads. In the Auditorium at 3:00pm.
• 11/25 JKV 2009 Budget Presentation. Hear about the Village's budget plans for the new year, and have the opportunity to ask questions. In the Auditorium at 2:00pm.
• 11/26 JKV Thanksgiving Service. Chaplain Jeff will lead us in this opportunity to collectively give thanks for our many blessings. In the Auditorium at 2:00pm.

CLASSES, GROUPS, REGULAR ACTIVITIES!
There are many activities this month including movies in the auditorium, dinner outings, shopping outings, bingo, military whist, library outings, women's bible studies, Spanish classes, computer classes, flower arranging, Weight Watchers,fitness, line-dancing, Village Chorus, the Village Note-ables and Sinkphony. Check the calendar and join in the many classes, games, and activities available to you. Join in the Fun!
